SMAN 19 Rehab Constrained the Cultural Heritage Status

The wish of teacher and student of SMAN 19 Tambora to enjoy facility and well school infrastructure will not be realized soon. It is because the school renovation that has been proposed since years ago still stuck in permit since the school's status is a cultural heritage.

Based on beritajakarta.com observation, the damage of the building is seen on main building in form of cracks. Some of wooden-sills and door are damaged. Even there is a room without door and window.
Similar condition is also seen at the ceiling. Most of the ceiling is broken and often leak during rainy day.
City to Form UPT to Manage ScholarshipSMAN 19 Vice Headmaster, Lukman, stated the damaged has been lasting for two years. "From the beginning of the construction, this building has never been repaired. Now the damage is getting worse. We're worry if the building will collapse," he stated.
Meanwhile, Head Section of Facility for West Jakarta Higher Education Sub-department, Alex Usman, explained the school's renovation has been programmed since 2012 by preparing Rp 14 billion, then also in 2013 with the same budget.
"The main problem is not about the budget, but permit from Jakarta Dept. of Tourism and Culture. It is because the school building is a heritage," he explained.
According to him, the budget for renovation will be still proposed in 2015. He hoped it could be realized.
Related to the 2014 budget realization, Alex added his side has cooperated with partner for 26 units of activity. There are goods and service procurement for SMKN and SMAN in form of virtual smart learning procurement, scanner and printer, smart teaching literature, Math multimedia interactive assessment, and so on.
"The total budget is Rp 143.6 billion or more," he uttered.
